Today me and two of my college friends (Cheryl and Tanya) drove down to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. We are actually staying at Weatherford. Everyone says, "Why Weatherford?" The short answer is "Why not?" but really it's because Sue is staying in Azle with her dad and the next town is Weatherford. There is also a Peach Festival in town starting tomorrow so we are planning on going down there to check it out. Last year Sue came to Amarillo for my retirement party. We always have a mini-reunion of us girls that lived in the dorm at W.T. when she comes to town. It's still amazing that we always pick right up where we left off. In the photo starting left to right is Tanya, Sue, Me (Linda) Jen and Cheryl. I consider each one of them a very close friend and wish we got together more often. Some live in other states and a few of us still live in the Amarillo area, but we got really close while living in the dorm and have remained friends for life. This is the first time we have been on a trip together. Hopefully it will become a new tradition. Here is a picture of the group from last year. Jen that is pictured with us did not make the trip this time, but hopefully will next time. So even though it is Family Friday I consider these girls part of my "extended" family. I love them all.
