Devil Cat Meets Hell Cat

(This is not the cat from the garage, but is a good representation of what I saw and why I was screaming.
I just had to do a quick blog about what just happened in our garage. First of all our garage is detached and we always leave the side door open so the dogs and cats can get in out of the cold. Every night about 11:30-12:00 we gather up Simon and Athena and lock them up in the garage for the night. They are not too excited about that, but they don't really have a choice. Well, lately they have not been wanting to go in the garage, especially Athena. There has been evidence of a male cat coming in the garage as he has been marking territory and both cats have been reacting. So tonight just like every night Kevin gets a cat and I get the other one and we take them out to the garage. We always close the side door behind us so the cats won't run out. We take them in the laundry room and give them a snack and then leave them to go to bed. For some reason tonight I had already put Athena in the laundry room and Kevin was bringing in Simon. I was on my way back out of the garage. I was half way between the laundry room and the side door, when something black shot by my legs. Now mind you I am in my night gown and slippers with fully exposed bare legs. Then the black streak skittered by again. For a split second I thought it was Simon, but then I noticed it was all black and a little too small. It was a stray cat and he was trapped! He started going CRAZY!!! I mean he was zooming around the garage so I started screaming at first to scare the poo out of him so he wouldn't be coming back, but then because I really thought he was going to attack me. He was running up the walls, jumping on boxes causing them to fall and spill, running up the shelves while clearing them of the objects stored on them. All the while I am screaming like a banshee. Kevin finally sticks his head out of the laundry room to see what's going on, of course the garage is a mess. I go running by Kevin into the laundry room, screaming something about a stray cat. I'm lucky the crazy cat didn't try to climb my legs. He tried to climb everything else in the garage. I slammed the laundry door behind me and the cat continued to circle the garage sometimes under the cars, sometimes over the cars. He tried to climb up the side door and was clawing furiously at it to get out. I opened the laundry room door to take a peek and saw that he had run up the wall and was on top of the garage door frame. I yelled to Kevin, "He's on the garage door!" So Kevin pushed the garage door button thinking the possessed cat would go out, but oh no, that would be too easy. After I heard the garage door open, I again opened up the laundry room door and there I was face to face with the glowing eyes of the black cat. I slammed the laundry room door again. I kept slamming it over and over again thinking it would scare the cat, but every time I opened it, there he was trying to get in the laundry room. He then ran up the freezer and ran across the top of the freezer and refrigerator clearing them of all the boxes on top. This time he did finally run out of the garage and Kevin declared, "He's gone!" By this time I was hoarse from screaming and both of our cats were in "catatonic" states (pun intended.) Their eyes were about to bug out of their skulls. Kevin said, "Linda Blair's got nothing on you. You scared the hell out of me. I was about to run up the walls with the cat." We cleaned up all the mess in the garage and locked it up for the night. Do you think the black cat will return? I hope not, but I guess we will have to check the garage each night before we lock up our cats. Like I said in my squirrel post, it's a zoo around here!
