To take a phrase from one of my blogger friends, "
Yipee, Jesus!" When something good or exciting happens she always exclaims, "
Yipee, Jesus!" Well, here's my
Yipee!! As you all know I had the most fabulous 50
th birthday coming up on two years ago. I received so many wonderful gifts. Anyway, after we got back from our wonderful birthday trip to Alaska we went out to dinner at my favorite place
Pacific Rim, with Kevin's family. Tina had gone to so much trouble to make my gift from them really special and had really thought it out and had them all wrapped and numbered so I would know the exact order I was to open them. I'll get to what they were in a minute. After the dinner we came home and we have a tendency to just put everything in the laundry room until we can get to it to find everything a new "home" if you know what I mean. I also think that was the same summer we were doing some home renovations so things were kind of crazy. I also had
Lasik surgery right after that too. Anyway, I had neatly tucked all the cards and gift certificates in a book that Randy and Tina had given me. Well, a couple of weeks went by and then months and I forgot all about the book with my gifts. Then something reminded me but by then I had forgotten the title of the book. I called Tina to ask her, but she had also forgotten. So what do you do . . . .You have to understand that in our den we have four floor to ceiling bookcases completely full of books. Every once in a while I would think about it and look, but to no avail. I just knew the last place I saw it was in the laundry room. There are a couple of boxes on top of the abandoned lizard cage, but I had been through them numerous times. I had pretty much given up hope of ever finding the book and gift certificates, but would still look periodically. Then about a week ago, I started thinking about it again. I looked in the boxes in the laundry room, but found nothing. I kind of looked on the three shelves in the den where I keep my books, but again, zip, zero,
nadda. Then last night I again got the urge to find the book so I started checking on my bookshelves again. Nothing. So I went out to the laundry room and started searching. I climbed up on the cabinet to get a better look at things on the top shelf, but again came up empty. The whole time Kevin's saying, "Get down you crazy lady. You're going to fall." But you know me, when I have my mind made up, nothing will stop me, plus I've been climbing cabinets ever since I could walk. You have to when you're short. So I just kept digging and handing Kevin things to put on the counter. After I searched the whole cabinet, Kevin said, "Okay, get down." But there was one more box on top of the cabinet. I pulled it down and started going through it. Handing Kevin things one at a time and there at the bottom was a book! I pulled it out and yep, that was the book I had been searching for. I opened it up and there were all my cards and gift certificates! Yipee, Jesus! I really hit pay dirt. It was like having a birthday party standing right there on the cabinet. Okay, finally to the good part! What did I find???? Well, here are the pictures.
Here are all my cards.

My cross Tina and Randy gave me. It was not
in the book, but was on top of the book, in the box.

My Dillard's gift certificate from Christi and Kelly.
Can't wait to use that this week.

My gift certificate to a nights stay in the cabin
at Three Falls Cove. It has actually expired, but
I'm going to call Rebecca and plead "stupid."
Hopefully she will honor it.
My gift certificate to Bella Luna Day Spa for a massage!
Boy do I need that now that I'm retired and oh so very stressed. He-he.
And where were they all so neatly tucked away for safe keeping?
Right in the book Tina gave me. Tina did you ever remember the title??
I'll give you a clue. Her husband is very famous and actually met Oprah
right here in Amarillo! Did you guess? Time's up . . . . . .
So Happy Birthday to me . . Happy Birthday to me . . . Happy Birthday dear Leelee . . .Happy Birthday to me. Thanks for all the lovely gifts.

What an AWESOME blog! I was on the edge of my seat...reading quickly! I would have NEVER remembered that book...and it was sort of unsettling that I couldn't remember it! It is a good book too! Yea! Happy Birthday to you! What a fun time! Okay...you are so right about the Wii Fit! I had so much fun doing to Hula Hoops...totally broke out in a sweat...and made John laugh the entire time! Love you!
Oh How I enjoyed reading that post. I thought I was the only person that ever "lost" things so compeletly in a "safe" place! Good book, hope you enjoy it. The fact that I have read of reported marriage problems between them took some of the impact off what Robin wrote for me still didn't spoil the truths written. Wii Fit how is it Thare? I was going to buy myself one for Christmas but didn't know anyone who had one so I couldn't get any personal knowledge and didn't want to waste my money. A friend that I am going to visit in Eng when I go in May has one so I hope to have a look then and maybe buy one when I get back home.
